Cal Beyer, CWP is Vice President of Workforce Risk and Worker Wellbeing for CSDZ, a Holmes Murphy Company. Cal was instrumental in the launch of the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. The construction unemployment rate fell from 4.5% in September to 4% in October. The national unemployment rate for all industries decreased from 4.8% in September to 4.6% in October as the U.S. economy added 531,000 jobs.

The House of Representatives passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill Friday night by a vote of 228 to 206, marking the next to last stop before the long-awaited $1.2 trillion spending package becomes law.

Rising construction materials prices appear to be starting to drive up the price of construction projects, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government data released.

The room block we have at the Marriott Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio is filling up!  Be sure to make your reservation soon to ensure you get into the Headquarter Hotel at the discounted rate.  Please note, we are holding a few rooms on the weekend nights before and after our convention for those that want to extend their stay. If you are arriving early or staying late and get a notice while making hotel reservations that the hotel is sold out, don’t panic yet – contact kmarcavage@sprayfoam.org.  When we are this early in the hotel reservation process, chances are you got this notice because one of the shoulder dates is filled and we can make adjustments based on hotel availability.  This is why you should act NOW – we may be able to tweak the block now, it is much harder to do closer to our convention.
