SPFA will hold its biennial election for the 2022-2024 Board of Directors. The election officially begins at 12:00 AM ET on June 3 and closes 11:45 PM ET on June 17. There are nine nominees for the six voting seats held by contractors and 11 candidates for the six voting seats held by non-contractor members. A full description of the election process as well as a list of all candidates can be found on our website HERE or in our downloadable PDF election brochure. Note that there is only one vote allowed per each contractor, supplier and consultant member company and that votes are submitted by the company voting representative via an online ballot. The results of the Board election will be announced July 5. All eligible member companies are encouraged to vote to help set the future direction of the Alliance!

In mid-May, SPFA was notified that the state of Minnesota was proposing legislation (SF4062) to control the use of PFAS chemicals (to learn more about PFAS regulations and their impact on SPF, click HERE). In some cases, the proposed PFAS regulations are overly broad in chemical definition and likely captures products & end uses not intended, including spray foam.

SPFA is pleased to announce Cole Fletcher, Creative Polymer Solutions, has been named the Professional Certification Program (PCP) Training Committee Chairperson. Cole brings a wealth of experience to this position. He started as an applicator and then worked as a Product Support Specialist, an Application Engineer and Technical Support Representative before joining Creative Polymer Solutions. Cole has been involved in the PCP for several years and is a PCP Certified Supplier Representative and Field Examiner. Under his leadership, new and innovative ways will be created to make training in spray foam more accessible and user friendly. The PCP Training Sub-Committee is one of the three sub-committees that make up the Professional Certification Program (PCP). The others focus on the Quality Assurance Program and Certification Scheme. SPFA’s educational content is driven by the work of the Technical Committees, each of which is composed of subject matter experts (SME). SPFA members are encouraged to become involved, join a committee, and support the ongoing professional development for SPF professionals. Contact info@sprayfoam.org for details.
