SSPC Is Proud to Announce 14 Years of IACET Accreditation

On June 19, 2006 The Society for Protective Coatings officially announced accreditation with the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The process to become an Accredited Provider (AP) involved a rigorous and extensive set of hands on evaluations performed by The IACET Commission. SSPC committed itself to this process to create a higher level of value to its customers, keeping its members in mind.

In the words of Jennifer Merck, Director of Training and Certification for SSPC:

“Becoming an IACET Authorized Provider has given our training and certification programs an added degree of credibility over the years. Going from training 2,500 students a year in 2006 to over 7,200 a year in 2019, we knew that standardized processes and procedures were a must! IACET accreditation has given our members more flexibility in achieving their career and professional development goals.”

 The IACET Commission has been thoroughly ensuring any organizations achieving AP status remain the best of the best. IACET’s long standing history beginning with its origins with the U.S. Department of Education in 1968 lead to the birth of the continuing education unit (CEU) in 1970. IACET also created the ANSI/IACET Standard in 2008. They have instituted this standard, to create a framework of continuous improvement to the learning experience including training providers and continuing education. Through this process IACET is committed to ensuring that its AP accredited organizations are the highest standard of adult learning and training for professionals.

SSPC is proud to announce that they have held the status of Accredited Provider (AP) for over 14 years. SSPC continues to believe that it should offer the highest quality training possible to its customers and members in a way that is relevant to them. Being IACET accredited allows us to offer CEU’s for our qualified training.

IACET provides a record of the educational accomplishments that translate well into further opportunities within the various industries. The students’ CEU’s are represented on the resulting certificates provided to them and in their SSPC learning profiles. Within our learning management system we use a student’s CEUs to determine eligibility for programs like SSPC PCS and SSPC CAS. IACET ensures that each of the individuals becoming qualified has the highest standard of training.
