SSPC takes great pride in the diverse group of men and women across the globe who serve as instructors for our various training and certification courses. Currently, SSPC is looking for new, qualified individuals to instruct.
If you would like to become an SSPC instructor, there are qualifications that you must meet. Some include a minimum of 4 years of full-time work experience in the specific field to be taught within the last 6 years, as well as being a current SSPC Member.
Steps to complete include:
1. Fill out an Instructor Application.
2. Take the SSPC training course you want to teach. (You would need to pass each test with a minimum of 90%.)
3. Meet the experience requirements outlined in the Instructor Qualification Form. (Included with the Instructor Application)
4. Record a mock video of you teaching a class.
5. Once the Instructor Application and video are reviewed by SSPC, you will then do a Skype Interview with SSPC Staff.
6. Once all requirements are met, you would be made a Provisional Instructor.
7. Lastly, you would be required to teach a course under the supervision of an SSPC Lead Instructor. They will then evaluate whether you qualify for Lead Instructor status.
Benefits to being an SSPC Instructor include a daily pay rate, travel, meal, and hotel reimbursement, meeting all the wonderful students who attend our classes, and more!
In addition to looking for instructors, SSPC is continuously seeking qualified Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop and instruct SSPC training and certification programs for the industrial protective coatings industry.
SME’s are an essential part of successful course development/revision projects. SME’s are business and industry representatives who have at least five years of technical field experience in industrial protective coatings.
- SME development/revision meetings are usually conducted online or through teleconference, with the occasional need for SME’s to attend a pilot of said program.
- SSPC Instructors are sent requests by email for upcoming teaching assignments, are paid a daily rate and compensated for their travel.
