Inspectors have a crucial job on any site and a thoroughly trained individual is an asset to the job.
They are there to observe, assess, document, and report in accordance with specification-invoked inspection hold points. A trained and certified inspector can achieve this through visual assessments and tests while producing records of the results. These are all elements covered in the SSPC’s Concrete Coating Inspector (CCI) Program.
The CCI program covers lectures on planning and providing third-party quality assurance, jobsite inspection, operations safety, inspection of concrete surface preparation and concrete moisture testing. The lectures are supplemented by daily classroom workshops using concrete coating inspection instruments.
Prepare to walk away as a Level 1 or Level 2 certified inspector; with a deep understanding of:
-Identifying the common duties, responsibilities, and role of a concrete coating inspector
-Defining and implementing job-specific duties identified in pre-job conferences and work plans
-Identifying and explaining how to use concrete coating inspection equipment
-Identifying and explaining the inspection of concrete surface preparation
-Explaining how moisture negatively impacts a concrete substrate
-Explaining the moisture vapor emissions rate
-Performing the most common methods of concrete moisture testing
-Explaining concrete coating inspection methods during and after coating application
-Preparing an inspection plan/procedure

Prerequisites: The Concrete Coating Basics eCourse (CCB) is a prerequisite requirement for either the Level 1 or 2 CCI course. The price of the CCB Program is included in the fees listed below.
To attend the Level 2 program, you must have:
- 2 years or 3,000 hours of coating/surfacing concrete experience plus 40 hours of approved training.
Or
- 5 years or 7,500 hours of coating/surfacing concrete experience.
