Gannett Fleming, a contributing lead in America’s infrastructure and environmental solutions for more than 100 years, has recently received approval from SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings as an authorized licensee for the SSPC Lead Paint Removal (C3) and Lead Paint Removal Refresher (C5) Programs in the United States. “Gannett Fleming is excited to be a part of the SSPC team and will strive to support the coating industry,” said Frank Slezak, Area Manager of Construction Services for Gannett.
Sayerlack Mexicana S.A de C.V., a contributor to the improvement of the professional and economic conditions for more than 50 years in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, also recently received approval from SSPC as an authorized licensee for the SSPC Fundamentals of Protective Coatings (C1), Planning & Specifying Industrial Coatings Projects (C2), Concrete Coating Basics (CCB), and Concrete Coating Inspector (CCI) Programs in Mexico.
Additionally, Naval and Industrial Solutions (NIS) in Panama recently received enthusiastic approval from SSPC to add C13 to the SSPC Training Programs they currently provide. Juan Caballero of NIS said he’s excited for the opportunities the new accreditation approval will open in their region for the protective coatings industry.
As with all new SSPC Licensees, Gannett Fleming and Sayerlack underwent rigorous reviews of their personnel, organization and procedures, to ensure their capability to administer quality SSPC training programs. SSPC’s Director of Training, Jennifer Merck said, “We are excited to come together with these companies, both well known for their contribution to the industries. We believe they will be able to reach untapped potential in their regions, thus growing the qualified trainee numbers to new heights.” NIS also went through a detailed review of their current agreement as well as the required criteria for C13 to ensure they met the accreditation requirements of IACET, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training.
These training programs provide practical and comprehensive knowledge of protective coatings as well as the fundamentals of corrosion, hazardous material encounters and the use of coatings as a protective mechanism against corrosion and deterioration of industrial structures. Students will become familiar with tools to develop and manage effective coating projects and familiarize themselves with OSHA and EPA regulations.
