SSPC Releases Industrial Coatings Safety Management eCourse

SSPC is pleased to announce the release of its newest online training program, "Industrial Coatings Safety Management." The course, which was originally offered as classroom-based training, focuses on recognizing and controlling hazards encountered on industrial coating projects as well as risk management and insurance.
Targeted toward professionals responsible for safety and health programs for industrial painting contractors, participants should have a background in health and safety, industrial hygiene, civil engineering, and/or field work supervision.
The 16-week course is available on demand via SSPC’s learning portal, “SSPC University,” and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a competent person related to safety and health programs in industrial coatings operations.
Course content includes topics concentrated on:
- Role of the contractor’s safety director or manager
- Managing risk
- Commonly encountered industrial coating occupational hazards
- Recognizing impairment
- Real costs of accidents
- Effective disciplinary action
- Feasibility of safety committees
- Pros and cons of worker incentives
- EMR’s
- Industry standards
