Don’t Forget to Vote on the SSPC-NACE Combination

From April 3-17, 2020, SSPC members are asked to vote on the possible combination of SSPC with NACE International to form a new association to serve the coatings and corrosion industry.
SSPC members who have been following along are aware that the two organizations have been in discussions since late 2018 about this possibility. Discussions continued throughout 2019 and by early 2020 the organizations began sharing information as part of weekly email updates to give members further insight into the specifics of the dialogue. In addition, both SSPC and NACE held Town Hall meetings to get feedback from members and answer key questions.
In February the SSPC Board of Governors voted unanimously to approve the combination with NACE, and in March, the NACE Board of Directors followed suit with a similar unanimous vote. Now, the issue is before the members of both associations, with voting set to conclude on April 17.
If you have not voted yet, please take this opportunity to cast your vote on the ballot. Ballots were sent originally on April 3 with follow up reminders sent on April 7 and April 10, and another set for April 15.
