of the 2015 Human
Resource Professional of the Year Award
This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding achievements made by human resource professionals in the Fort Worth area. Martin was nominated by his peers as the individual who has made significant contributions to his own organization, as well as serving as an advocate to the HR community by utilizing innovation, technology and best practices. In addition, he reinforces the mission of FWHRMA and the national organization, the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) to "serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resource management."
Carla McKenzie, SPHR, president of FWHRMA, said, "Ret epitomizes what HR professionals strive to be. His professionalism is evident from the moment you meet him. We are so proud to present this award to such an outstanding and deserving recipient." The nominator’s identity is withheld but when describing Martin in the nomination form said, "Ret is known for always doing the right thing, for the right reasons, and doing it with a compassionate heart."
The award presented is a custom-made, one-of-a-kind piece of mounted glass art designed by Jean Fernandes, an artist from Sinaca Studios School of Glass and Gallery on Magnolia in Fort Worth.
