Fundraiser Recap at Galveston Meeting

Fantastic way to start the year!! Thank you to all chapter leaders, board members, CLA’s and guest who participated in the fundraiser for the SHRM foundation during the January meeting in Galveston. If you missed it, he’s a quick recap.

We had his and her baskets in the drawing along with t-shirts as gifts for a minimum donation of $20 Dollars to the SHRM foundation. A big THANK YOU goes out to Jimmy Taylor for creating some excitement to raise more funds. The challenge was: if we could reach a goal of $1500, Jimmy would bring a picture of himself to the Spring meeting in El Paso. The picture of Jimmy is from the 80’s when he worked for Southwest airlines as a flight attendant and he is standing next to a Cowboys Cheerleader for a Southwest airlines ad.

Congratulations to everyone for rallying together. We were able to raise $1930 for the SHRM Foundation. Way to raise the bar. If you need a receipt please contact Dena. We will see you in El Paso, bring your wallet, we will have some great surprises! And, you’ll get to see Jimmy’s picture.

Melissa Carrillo was the winner of the "his" basket (Melissa Laibinis was gracious for taking it back for her). Pam Bratton was the winner of the "her" basket. As always, if you would like to donate a cool item for us to include in our drawings or giveaways, please let us know!
