Are You Connected with Your Local Chapter? Why, or Why Not?

Believe me-Your chapter does want to know!

Your local chapter relies on information from you to select and engage speakers, to arrange activities, to define programming and engage within your community. Most companies don't do a good job at internal communications and they know it. This is Your Professional Association; create an energy field that is filled with communication, enables collaboration and innovation to benefit and power your chapter forward.

Won't you take time to share with other HR Professionals why you connect?

"I have been asked several times why I joined AHRMA, and my first answer is usually, "because it added value to my resume." Truthfully, my AHRMA membership has been much more than just a resume filler. It is provided me an opportunity to appreciate the talents that I possess as an HR professional. Usually most of us go through the day just trying to "do our job" and we do not often appreciate what our job entails. Through AHRMA, I have come to learn that I can plan an event on a limited budget with short notice; I can tell you which employment law your boss just violated; I can let you take your frustration out on your boss at me without batting an eye, and from time to time I can be an engaging speaker who actually teaches you something you didn't know. This, and much more, is what I consider the true benefit of my AHRMA membership."

Human Resource Director Bastrop County

"After graduating with my Master's in OD and HR, I was looking for the next professional development opportunity that would benefit my career. I joined AHRMA to network, get to know more HR Professionals in the Austin area, and continue learning from the community."
