Dallas HR

On April 12th, over 40 DallasHR members volunteered at the 10th annual WINGS Luncheon, presented by Texas Health Resources, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Over $500,000 was raised for the women and children of New Friends New Life! Barbara Pierce Bush, CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, engaged the audience about her mission of drawing young leaders into the work of championing women’s rights and health equity. The funds raised will help New Friends New Life provide access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health and spiritual support to formerly trafficked and sexually exploited teenage girls, women and their children.

The next New Friends New Life event will be at Golf Classic at the Stevens Park Golf Course in Kessler Park/Oak Cliff on Monday, September 23. Registration and lunch begin at 11:00 AM with tee off at 1:00 PM, followed by a brief awards reception and raffle drawing after golf.  The event should wrap by 6:00/6:30 PM.  Please contact  Board Member Lynne Stewart (lynne@superiorhire.com), for details on service opportunities at this and other upcoming events. As DallasHR President John Hagan says, "insanely great things are happening here in Dallas and the rest of the great state of Texas." We are so proud and excited to be actively involved in bringing together HR professionals to enact positive change in the community, restoring and empowering women and children to overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty, and limited opportunities. Together at DallasHR we can make a difference!
