DFW Staffing Management Alliance and DFW Texas Recruiters Network hosted the 2014 Recruiting Team of the Year (RTOY) awards on Thursday, Feb. 19. We had a GREAT time recognizing such amazing talent! If you missed the event, you missed an awesome celebration! And, now that you see all the fun you missed, you must make plans to join us next year! This was our third annual event and it gets better every year! If you work with, or know of, an amazing team that you think deserves to be recognized, start making notes! Membership recruitment and retention for your chapter and state council can be challenging. Having the right tools and knowledge can make this an easier task for you and your committee members. The February webinar will be focused on identifying tools you will need to attract and retain members. Marketing tools and also resources in the Volunteer Leader Resource Center (VLRC) will be identified and discussed to help you be successful in your membership role. You will also have the opportunity to participate in "successful" sharing with your peers. This is a great opportunity to share successful programs and also to discuss challenges with each other. This is a webinar you don’t want to miss to jump start your role as membership CLA directors.

The Spring Semester has started and you’re probably into the full swing of your classes, but have you considered this one thought – What are my plans going forward? What will I be doing over Spring break and Summer break to make myself more marketable later when it’s time to transition to the corporate/business world?

The SHRM competency-based certification answers a critical need in our global marketplace. Employers expect more today, and we need to meet their expectations. This certification will demonstrate for HR professionals who we are, what we do, and why it matters. Simply put — it's our value proposition.
