Hello, TAGITM! First of all, I’d like to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As we move toward the end of January and the holiday-feel wears off, so does the desire to maintain this futile New Year’s resolution of eating healthier. Nobody can justify a piece of gooey butter cake quite like I can.
This time of year, things really begin to ramp up for us all. A few days ago, if you were like me, you were checking one more time to make sure you didn’t miss any Windows 7 devices on your network. If your plate is already full, this latest round of EOL software from Microsoft put an extra strain on staff and resources. However, to this day, I still occasionally walk by a point-of-sale system in a restaurant or department store and see a cringe-worthy Windows XP logo flashing on the screen.
Additionally, this time of year brings some intense planning for the annual conference and upcoming regional events. Believe it or not, the annual conference is only three months away. I’m not going to give away any secrets, but it’s going to be great! The folks on the Conference and Education committees go over every single detail to make sure it goes off without a hitch. We have at least two more regional events to host across the state this year, as well. Look for information on the next one in the coming weeks. We do our best to host these in areas that would get the highest attendance, but also cover as much of the state of Texas as we can. The idea behind these regional events is to provide a one-day educational and networking event that’s within driving distance of your shop. Our goal this year is to have four regional events. As big as Texas is, we hope one of them will be close to you.
I hope you all have a great start to 2020!
