At the time of this writing, there are exactly 43 days remaining in the memorable year 2020. While this year cannot end fast enough, I sarcastically want to ask, “What else could go wrong?” I’ll refrain – 2020 might answer my question. If this year has shown us one thing, it’s that we can step up and meet any challenge that comes our way. As Information Technology professionals and as government employees that come to work each day to serve, we have adapted to an ever-changing landscape. We have kept our systems operational and our users connected in ways not anticipated twelve months ago.
In the coming weeks, there will be information coming your way about our next regional summit. It will be a virtual event with a focus on cybersecurity. Last year, you heard from industry experts from the realm of information security, as well as emergency management professionals. This year, you will hear about how to respond to threats from a cyber-insurance and risk management perspective. Risk management professionals will be presenting, along with cyber claims experts. There will be a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity with several professionals sharing their insights. It is worth a mention to your own risk management staff, as they are welcome to attend and will relate to many of the discussions at this event.
I mentioned this last month, but be looking for a survey from TAGITM. It will ask questions about your current travel and budget restrictions, as well as the likelihood that you and your staff will be able to attend the 2021 annual in-person conference. Hearing back from you through this survey is crucial to our planning process over the coming months. Please be sure to complete it as soon as it arrives in your inbox.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
