Dear TAGITM Members,
I am delighted to reach out to you with exciting news and updates regarding our recent endeavors and upcoming plans. It is my pleasure to inform you that the TAGITM regional summit "Ride the Cloud with Microsoft" was an outstanding success. This achievement holds a special significance for us as it marked the first time we provided three successful regional events in a single year. Moreover, the turnout we experienced in the southwestern region of the state exceeded our expectations.
I would like to extend our gratitude to the city of Phar for graciously hosting this event. Their support and collaboration were instrumental in ensuring its success. Additionally, I would like to express my appreciation to the Education Committee for their dedication and hard work in organizing the summit. Their efforts played a vital role in bringing the event to fruition. I would also like to recognize and thank Jose Peña for his invaluable contributions, which played a great part in making this event happen.
In line with our commitment to strategic planning, the TAGITM board recently convened to discuss the future of our organization. Over the past three years, we have experienced rapid expansion, and I am thrilled to announce that we do not anticipate slowing down any time soon. However, this growth brings with it some challenges that we must address. During our discussions, one of the key factors we examined closely was the valuable feedback provided by you through the conference survey.
I am pleased to share that we received predominantly positive feedback on the majority of the event. In particular, the Women in Technology roundtable event received high praise for fostering inclusivity and promoting diversity within the technology field. The introduction of the new Industry Partner award was also met with enthusiasm, recognizing the contributions and collaborations of our esteemed partners. Furthermore, the incorporation of more GIS-related content was widely appreciated, as it expanded the range of knowledge and expertise shared during the conference.
We greatly value your feedback and suggestions, as they assist us in shaping the future direction of TAGITM. Your engagement and participation are integral to the success of our organization, and we will continue striving to meet and exceed your expectations.
Looking ahead, we are eager to build upon the momentum generated by our recent accomplishments. We are actively working on developing an engaging agenda for our next series of events, which will further foster professional development, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities for our members.
Once again, I extend my deepest gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the regional summit, and to each and every one of you for your continued support. Together, we will navigate the challenges ahead and ensure that TAGITM remains at the forefront of technological collaboration.
Thank you,
Chris Lee
