The new TAGITM Board of Directors held our annual strategic planning session in late May. We seated a couple new faces to the Board: Jim Daniels chairs our Communications Committee, and Eric Yancy chairs the Cybersecurity Committee. Jennifer Frescaz, the former Communications Chair, has taken over the Education Committee. Plans are in the works to host our first regional event in the Rio Grande Valley later this year.

We’re all knee-deep in our agency budget process. Keep the annual conference at Moody Gardens in your budgeting minds, as well as the conference at La Cantera the following year. Challenging sales tax revenues, ARP funding, and permanent remote work plans all seem to be the hot topics. Make sure to hit the listserv for ideas or recommendations.

The passing of SB 475 this year should help foster more IT mutual aid ILAs across Texas. Check out the ILA Tracking page on the TAGITM website if you’d like to join one of the existing ILAs or start one in your region.
