A Message from the Past President

Hello TAPPA,

So, many of you may or may not know what goes into the planning of a conference of the magnitude of ours. It takes countless hours behind the scenes and many, many virtual meetings and if we’re lucky, an in-person visit to the current venue.

I wish that I could take responsibility for the outcome of this year’s conference, however my elected board really stepped up for me in my time of need. Although I wasn’t there in person I was there in spirit. I want to thank each and every one of you that attended, and I truly missed meeting and collaborating with you, even sharing an adult beverage or two. I know it takes every one of us to make a difference in the students’ lives on the campuses that we have provided stewardship over for many years.

I appreciated all the well wishes and I want to thank each of you.

I will be rolling off as your most recent president and into the role of “past president,” but trust me, I have some pretty big shoes to fill as my friend and colleague David “Dave” Reynolds rolls out. I want to wish nothing but the best to TAPPA’s next president, Chad Crocker, now a Baylor Bear, sic ‘em, and continued success in the momentum that I hope I helped create.

Also, please welcome your newest Vice President Sean Childress, who hails from West Texas, Lubbock and Texas Tech…Guns Up!

Sincerely,

Wm. “Shorty” Schwartz, Immediate Past President, TAPPA
