This month’s spotlight is on Jim Norcom, who recently retired from the University of Houston. Many members of the TAPPA community know Jim through his past roles as board member, President, and Past President of the Association. He has been a staunch advocate for creating educational opportunities and generating scholarships for colleges and universities to attend TAPPA conferences. Under Jim’s guidance, TAPPA has grown in membership and conference content.
Jim began his career in the facilities world as a U.S. Army officer in the Corps of Engineers. He continued to hone his construction management skills in the commercial architecture-engineering world, working on projects across Louisiana and south Texas before joining the University of Houston 20 years ago. Jim’s efforts have influenced campuses across the University of Houston and will benefit the citizens of Texas for decades to come. Thank you, Jim for all of your work for TAPPA and Texas. Best of luck in your future adventures.
