Background into the field of Facility Management
Began by building a CAFM, moved into building a GIS for FM and associated internship program, grew GIS program to 3 FTE and 4 PTE that includes high-accuracy field mapping capabilities, promoted to AD of a team that oversees GIS, CAD, Capital Planning, Data Analytics, Plan Room/Archive, process improvement initiatives, and Communications. Received my CEFP credential in 2019.
How has TAPPA contributed to your career?
Giving me access to peers and resources that foster collaboration and synergy; providing me the opportunity to grow my professional experience by speaking at the recent virtual conference.
Personal Tidbit
Real name is Pedro and I'm the fourth in my family genealogy. Was part of the first team at my university to compete for a national title in collegiate Ultimate Frisbee and directed a charitable Ultimate Frisbee tournament for four years that provided gifts to local charities for kids to receive during the Christmas holiday.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Through our internship program, the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our student employees and hearing of their success after college. They're at the heart of our mission every day – to provide the greatest experience they can get to better their lives and ultimately our world.
