Cheryl Smith, RID, is a Facilities Planner at the University of North Texas and active member of TAPPA.  Ms. Smith has worked for UNT for 13 years and obtained her bachelor’s degree in interior design from the university.  As a strong, UNT “Mean Green” fan, you are likely to find green in many of her project designs. Cheryl is a strong proponent of improving her teams and her profession which was recently, demonstrated when she teamed on two presentations at TAPPA 2023 regarding furniture standards and student intern development and management. When recently asked about the TAPPA 2023 conference, Cheryl replied, “TAPPA presents outstanding opportunities to engage peers from across state institutions and businesses.  Those engagements are priceless for learning new concepts and learning how to tackle common challenges. See you next year at TAPPA2024 in San Marcos.”

          

Kacie Chappell is a passionate and innovative disaster recovery professional, focused on developing and maintaining productive business relationships that promote trust. When she started her role as commercial account manager for Blackmon Mooring & BMS CAT in 2016, Kacie began focusing on TAPPA as a priority. Her dedication was awarded as DFWAPPA “Business Partner of the Year” in 2020 & has been remained an active sponsor for TAPPA. 

Kacie enjoys finding creative solutions for her higher education clients from the worst flood/fire/disaster to assisting with a planned DFWAPPA/TAPPA meeting. Through TAPPA, Kacie has made life long connections & benefited from taking all of the continuing education opportunities. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Texas Tech University Spirit Alumni Board of Directors and is also involved in NTFSA and TASBO. 

Kacie is grateful for all of the informative local meetings, the amazing annual TAPPA conference, and she is looking forward to all of the new regional meetings coming to TAPPA!
