MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
 
 

This month’s TAPPA Facility Manager spotlight shines on J.C. Colmenero. He serves as the Director of Physical Plant & Facility Operations for Coastal Bend College. He brings a diverse range of facility services experiences in the private sector, K-12, and higher education. J.C. has been a TAPPA supporter for several years, working with the marketing committee. He was recently appointed to the TAPPA Board of Directors. According to J.C., “TAPPA offers remarkable chances to learn from fellow facility managers and exchange experiences, challenges, and insights with colleagues. This vibrant community fosters a collaborative environment where collective knowledge leads to professional growth and innovation. I can’t wait for #TAPPA2024 in San Marcos and I look forward to serving on the Board.” 

  

As the president of Building Envelope Asset Management (BEAM), Shawn leads the building envelope professionals within the PBK family of services. BEAM’s staff are experts in the designing, testing, and commissioning of all six sides of a building’s overall envelope (water, thermal, air). Shawn has an extensive knowledge in protecting all six sides of educational buildings from water intrusion. He and his team have a passion to ensure that students have a warm, safe, and dry environment to thrive. That is why BEAM has become a part of TAPPA. According to Shawn, “The connections that are formed and lessons we have learned and shared with TAPPA members are extremely valuable to both BEAM and our TAPPA-member partners.”
