MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
 
 

Congratulations to Seth who recently became the Associate Vice President of Facilities Management and Services at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) after working his way up the staff ladder. Seth joined UNTHSC in 2009 as a Maintenance Technician 1, and he has held five different positions within the Facilities Management Department since then. In 2018 he was promoted to Executive Director of Facilities Management, where he led the Facilities Management Department through a multitude of construction projects, energy savings initiatives, and campus strategic improvements.   

A believer in lifelong learning, Seth participated in the TCU Neeley School of Business Adaptive Leadership Program and was a graduate of the second cohort of Fellows Leadership Training at the HSC. Seth considers his team a family and his leadership style is people centered. He believes we are “better together,” as he and his team have earned “Valubility of the Month” award several times.

Seth is passionate about making connections with the HSC and the local community. He represents the HSC as a board member on Fort Worth Cultural District Alliance since 2022, and most recently in 2023 he became a board member for the Cowtown Marathon.  He is currently the Secretary of DFWAPPA.

  

Marty Garza is the Vice President, Higher Education for Joeris General Contractors and leads their higher education market group across the State of Texas.  He has over 40 years of experience in the Texas construction market and has focused on colleges and universities for 28 of those years, including serving as the Assistant Director of Construction for the Texas A&M University System, Facilities Planning & Construction office.  Marty attended his first TAPPA conference in 2019 and has attended every conference since.  As a TAPPA Business Partner, he not only values the wealth of information shared at each TAPPA conference, but more importantly values the lasting relationships that are developed and enhanced each year.
