May 17, 2018 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM What do you need to consider when selecting an asphalt mixture for a given application in a pavement? How do you determine the appropriate lift thickness for the mix being compacted? What are the characteristics of and uses for dense-graded asphalt mixtures, permeable friction course mixtures, stone matrix asphalt mixtures, thin overlay mixtures, and thin bonded permeable friction course mixtures? We will answer all of these questions and show you an example of mix type selection as applied in design. Credit:1 PDH This webinar is part of our Texas Asphalt Pavement User Guide Webinar Series. TxDOT and the Hot Mix Asphalt Center partner each year to present QC/QA awards to Certified Technicians for their efforts to achieve excellence in the performance of their assigned duties. QC/QA Technicians are an invaluable part of our industry, and this program will honor those who strive to be their best and to those who dedicate their careers to helping the industry be its best. A technician from each level of Hot Mix Certification (1A, 1B, and Level 2) and one technician from the Soils & Flexible Bases Certifications (101, 102, 103, 201 & 202) will be chosen to receive the award. But this cannot happen without your help, so take the time to nominate a deserving technician. DOWNLOAD NOMINATION FORM A committee will then review all the nominations and announce the winners at the TXAPA Annual Meeting. We are excited about this Awards program and look forward to this year’s nominations. Again with you cooperation and involvement, we expect to have a successful QC/QA Technician Awards Program. To view last year’s winners visit www.txhmac.org.
Certification and training classes through the HMAC are filling up for May. Check on the schedule online.
