Electrical Engineer - Dickson Electric System

Electrical Engineer: Dickson Electric System, a municipal electric system located in Middle Tennessee, has an opening for an Electrical Engineer who will work under the supervision of the Director of Engineering. Must be able to perform professional work in the design, planning, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems; make recommendations on methods of system improvements; and develop engineering costs, labor costs, equipment costs, material costs, prepare bid documents, plans and specifications.
The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, a Tennessee Professional Engineer’s license (or ability to obtain within 4 years) and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience related to electrical planning and operations with emphasis on design, construction, and operation of electrical distribution systems. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical and time management skills, good project management skills, the ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner, strong written and oral communication skills, good computer skills, and a valid Tennessee drivers license. The candidate must be a self starter and be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Candidate must be proficient in the use of personal computers and software including Windows, Excel, and Word. Familiarity with Milsoft and GIS software is desirable.
