A new reactor at Georgia’s Vogtle nuclear power plant is now in commercial operation, making it the first new nuclear reactor to start up in the United States since 2016. According to S&P Global, the mining industry faces "considerable challenges" meeting larger-than-expected demand for copper, nickel and other electric vehicle metals fueled by U.S. climate law.
