TMRA’s Annual Meeting at the Grand Galvez in Galveston this week was a wonderful time for members to connect with old friends and make new ones. A majority of Americans (57%) say they favor more nuclear power plants to generate electricity in the country, up from 43% who said this in 2020. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) sought bids from power producers earlier this month to increase its operating reserves in case of any unexpected spikes in demand during the upcoming winter season. While the Biden administration is working with urgency to support overseas mining and establish mineral partnerships, the same urgency is notably missing at home. America should not follow Germany’s lead and let misguided energy policies take us down the same path. TMRA News
