TONL News & Updates
I always look forward to the TONL Annual Conference, but am particularly eager this year to set time aside to learn from experienced keynote speakers that champion compassion and encourage others to lead their own evolution. Once again, 2021 brought challenges for nurse leaders across Texas, and 2022 seems to have no plans to be outdone. Our annual conference offers time to refuel by showcasing provocative speakers and panels that expand our thoughts, as well as reconnect through networking opportunities and a chance to visit with our wonderful, supportive vendors.
Last year, with input from TONL members and direction from the TONL Board, — a TONL task team developed a white paper defining "Nurse Leader," with an intent to disseminate and share the definition so that the definition can be utilized by all nurses and all nursing organizations. The work has been shared in TONL's newsletter and at the TONL 2021 Conference. A highlight in disseminating the information, however, has come from three members of the task team crafting an article for AONL's Nurse Leader journal. Special gratitude and appreciation goes to TONL members Dr. Debbie Cline, Dr. Jeanette Crenshaw, and Dr. Stephanie Woods for their authorship, sharing TONL's definition of Nurse Leader in a prestigious nursing journal, clearly placing it in nursing literature.
