As we kick off the 2022-2023 TONL year, we would like to recognize our new President, President-Elect, and Secretary. AJ Stephens, DNP, MBA-HCA, RN, NEA-BC
St. David’s Healthcare – Austin, Texas Dr. AJ Stephens began his nursing career at Lea Regional Medical Center in rural Hobbs, New Mexico practicing in Critical Care and Emergency services, and eventually took on leadership roles. He moved to UMC Health System in Lubbock, Texas and served as the Health Services Administrator and Chief Administrator for Regional Correctional Health Care Services overseeing multiple health care programs. He currently serves as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer for St. David’s North Austin Medical Center as part of HCA Healthcare’s Central & West Texas Division.
Cheryl Petersen, RN, MBA, NE-BC
Cook Children's Medical Center
Cheryl Petersen is the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice-President for Patient Services at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She has served in this role since November of 2015 and prior to this role was Assistant Vice-President of Nursing and Nursing Director with Cook Children’s for 21 years.
Nora Frasier, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC
Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Nora Frasier, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC is currently the Vice President Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer at Magnet-recognized Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX. She has been a registered nurse for over 35 years and a nurse executive for approximately the last 25 years. Nora has led nursing in diverse not-for-profit and proprietary hospitals, from a 100-bed rural community hospital to an urban tertiary care academic medical center. Her background also includes positions as a quality director, hospital administrator and chief nurse executive in a 1200-bed, 6-hospital health system. Nora has served as an appraiser teamleader for the Magnet© Recognition Program for 15 years.
