The University of Nevada, Reno College of Business announced that Paul Brashier has been named their Volunteer of the Year for 2018. Brashier has been heavily involved with the college since he first began working at ITS Logistics in 2015. As Director of Operations for ITS Logistics, he is responsible for recruitment, onboarding and first-week training for the rapidly growing Freight Brokerage division. In addition, Brashier leads the Intermodal team and is responsible for community liaisons with various business and industry groups. Choptank Transport is getting ready to open its newest sales office in Baltimore. Located near the popular neighborhood of Federal Hill with its great restaurants, quaint stores and Cross Street Market, the location will be convenient for employees and is within walking distance of light rail. The new 4,000 square foot office space will be opening around June 1, 2018. With policymakers debating the thorny issue of infrastructure “pay-fors,” the top highways policymaker recently touted a vehicle-miles-traveled fee as a funding approach capable of addressing the country’s needs. Highways and Transit Subcommittee Chairman Sam Graves (R-Mo.) emphasized “political realities” are requiring lawmakers to consider adopting different funding approaches for infrastructure.The funding status quo, which includes relying on the Highway Trust Fund, “isn’t paying the bills,” he explained.
