Learn how to avoid big headaches by entering into separation agreements.
The advent of automated driving technology is poised to transform the trucking industry in the years and decades to come, but it is clear that autonomous trucks will not be ready to handle all driving tasks and conditions anytime soon. Building a strong and dynamic carrier base is essential to brokerage growth. Too often, the pull for spot market, transactional business leaves brokers without a core base of carriers to manage the expanding business needs of clients and prospects.
All businesses face a certain amount of risk. This is especially true for transportation brokers. With every load a broker is exposed to legal and financial risks in the amount of hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars. These range from having to pay the same freight bill twice… to an uninsured cargo claim… to vicarious liability for highway accidents… all in exchange for a profit margin measured in hundreds of dollars. With TIA’s know-how, this course is designed to provide a powerful understanding of the many intricacies of a profitable third-party brokerage logistics operation to successfully serve its customers, and is useful for both inexperienced and experienced brokerage professionals. This course introduces you to the world of an independent contractor, covers marketing and sales, the finer points of an independent contractor’s job, information on load assignments, and even day-to-day office operations.
