The latest regulatory calendar from the U.S. Department of Labor indicates that the Department currently plans to propose new regulations relating to overtime pay in March 2019. These regulations, which were last changed in 2004 and which had a rulemaking under the Obama Administration halted by the Federal Courts, determine the basis, salary levels, and duties requirements that must be met to exempt employees from overtime pay.

On Thursday, Jan. 3, TIA Chief of Staff Nancy O’Liddy and Senior Government Affairs Director Chris Burroughs were on Capitol Hill for the opening day of the 116th Congress. TIA looks forward to continuing to work closely with Congress and the Trump administration and representing the interests of TIA members and the 3PL industry. |
Van rates have been mostly stable as a national average, but Texas is a bright spot. Rates out of Dallas have risen 3.5 percent over the past four weeks, based on an average of eight high-volume lanes.
Hurry. The deadline is fast approaching to apply for TIA’s Samaritan Award. The award recognizes a TIA member for exceptional service and assistance to others in need and will be presented at the 2019 TIA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, FL.
