On February 9, 2021, The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, had its second hearing of the 117th Congress. The hearing featured expert witnesses from the four major components of the maritime system. These components include, U.S. Domestic ships (covered under Jones Act), U.S. International fleets, the port authorities and ship builders.

February 8, 2021: This week Democrats, who control the White House and both chambers of Congress, rolled out their “CARES 3.0” COVID-19 relief package. A $1.9 trillion package that encompasses multiple industry sectors and includes personal and business stimulus. The House is set to vote the week of February 22.
