SANDAG and Caltrans are conducting a survey of prominent companies that operate in the San Diego-Tijuana-Tecate region about their experiences with cross-border trade.

The survey is part of the ongoing planning process for the Otay Mesa East Port of Entry, which will be opening soon. Participation will give you the opportunity to provide recommendations for improvements to border crossing operations as this important regional project is being planned. All information provided will be completely confidential and used for planning purposes only.

Please consider sharing the survey with personnel in your company or professional colleagues at other firms whose input you think would be relevant and useful.

TIA is excited to announce that Federal Maritime Commissioner (FMC) Carl Bentzel will be joining the TIA
Airfreight and International Conference Committee as a guest speaker. Commissioner Bentzel will present
on a litany of items pertaining to our membership.

This will be the first call of the combined Airfreight and International Logistics Conference Committee.

Commissioner Bentzel will speak about the role of FMC in the global economy and will specifically touch on
issues surrounding the LA/Long Beach Port Congestion, detention and demurrage, and a variety of other
issues that impact TIA Members.

This is just another example of putting members in front of decision makers and being able to ask
questions that impact your business and livelihood directly. We hope that not only members of the
Conference Committee will join, but also those who thought about these industry sectors as an addition to their business. Details will be rolled out soon, but the event will take place on Thursday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM EST.
