September is National Life Insurance Awareness Month, which is a great reminder of this important tool, and the impact that a life insurance policy can have on a family or business after the death of a loved one, key person, or owner.

Could Life Insurance Benefit You?

  • 38% of Americans say their household would face financial hardship within six months should a wage-earner unexpectedly pass away. At least 30% would struggle within a month.
  • More than a third of those without life insurance say they haven’t purchased it because they are unsure how much they need.
  • Over half of Americans overestimate the cost of life insurance by three times its actual price.
  • 41% of Americans say they don’t have sufficient life insurance coverage.
  • Among life insurance owners, 21% say that they do not have enough coverage.

Life Insurance Awareness Month is a great time to take the next steps to acquire coverage. For those who already have it, this serves as a reminder to review any existing policies to help make sure you are positioned to meet the needs of your family and/or business. Doing so can help achieve peace of mind, along with providing protection for your loved ones and company.
