November 2017
As we wind down these last days of November and head into the busyness of December, I am feeling thankful. Yes, I know that with the Thanksgiving holiday that occurred last week, thanks were given. But today, as you read this post, I would ask that you truly reflect on what 2017 has meant for you, the plumbing and HVAC contractor:
· Enough work to keep your employees earning money
· A business that has experienced growth
· A state in which your license is valued and protected
And, as a PHCC member, the gratefulness can be extended to:
· A network of fellow contractors who care about their businesses
· Premier educational offerings for license holders and aspiring apprentices
· Business training and product demonstrations
· Representation not only in Austin but in Washington, DC
· Fellow members who reached out to those in crisis during Hurricane Harvey late summer
· Businesses that kept on going; despite storm losses
I could go on about the blessings we have experienced this year thus far. I haven’t even included the personal ones regarding friends and family. We often miss the small opportunities to give thanks. In our crazy, work-filled days, we can overlook the friendly face we meet at the supply house, or the helpful co-worker who will do what it takes to get the job done, or even, the grateful customer who appreciates the excellence in your work.
As 2017 comes to an end, I am remiss if I did not thank you, our members! We work with you in mind every day. What will bring the most value as you seek education, networking, product presentations, and legislative representation? PHCC Texas was formed in April of 1914. That is over 100 years of walking alongside those that care about their industry and their futures.
My commitment to you in 2018 will be to continue to listen to your concerns. Find solutions to those problems that exist and raise awareness of an industry that can provide viable and rewarding employment.
A very happy Holiday Season to each of you. From our staff and board of Directors, may I say THANK YOU for 2017 and we look forward to 2018!
