We provide catering food and services. Some of our clients are requesting that our catering staff be COVID 19 vaccinated to work at their event. To accommodate the client, can we, as an employer, ask our employees if they have been vaccinated and can we ask them for proof of vaccination? Is it legal for us as the employer to prohibit an employee who is not vaccinated from working catering events when the client requests all catering employees be vaccinated?

It is amazing that over six years have passed since I began my tenure as PHCC’s chief staff officer and this year has been filled with many “last times.” It’s been the last time for building budgets, preparing strategic plans, visiting corporate partners and sponsors, presenting at chapter conventions, participating in media podcasts, attending Alliance meetings, writing this PHCC CEO Team Brief, and now constructing our face-to-face PHCCCONNECT2021.

Thank you to all sponsors, participants and volunteers that made this a successful and fun event for all!

Pursuant to House Bill 636, all applicants and licensees will soon be required to submit a copy of their fingerprints so that the TSBPE can conduct a criminal history check. That means all plumbers in the state of Texas, regardless of license type, will be required to have their fingerprints on file with the TSBPE. As of 9/1/21 the fingerprint requirement applies to all exam applicants as well.
