Issues for consideration include border security, the Texas electric grid, rising insurance costs, artificial intelligence, property tax relief, access to healthcare, education, workforce productivity, federal interference on the Texas economy, election integrity, ESG impact, transportation funding, support for Texas veterans, and water reliability. Committees will schedule and meet at their discretion to review the assigned issues between now and January 2025. House Speaker Dade Phelan has not issued a full list of interim committee charges yet, but has appointed a few select committees that have scheduled hearings including the Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies and the Select Committee on Protecting Texas LNG Exports.
