EPA Sustainable Materials Management Grants – EPA Region 2

The EPA solicits applications under the EPA Sustainable Materials Management Program for the benefit of the EPA Region 2 areas of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. While an application submitted must benefit Puerto Rico and/or the U.S. Virgin Islands, it may also benefit areas elsewhere in EPA Region 2 (i.e., New York, New Jersey).
Sustainable materials management (SMM) is a systemic approach to using and reusing materials more productively over their entire life cycles. It represents a change in how our society thinks about the use of natural resources and environmental protection. By looking at a product's entire life cycle, we can find new opportunities to reduce environmental impacts, conserve resources and reduce costs.
This RFA solicits applications that are related to an SMM approach to managing either or both organics and C&D waste. Submitted applications may address organics and/or construction and demolition (C&D) waste Region-wide but must benefit Puerto Rico and/or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Eligibility: States, local, Tribal, interstate, and intrastate government agencies and instrumentalities; and non-profit organizations that are not 501(c)(4) organizations that lobby, including non-profit educational institutions and non-profit hospitals. - Funding: Award ceiling $100,000 per award; estimated total funding $100,000.
