Aligning Compostable Packaging and Compost Manufacturing: Compostables Field Testing Program

For the past several years, the Composting Council Research and Education Foundation (CCREF) has been working with BSIbio to create a standardized method for compost manufacturers to test the disintegration of compostable packaging in their existing processes and develop a database of real-world disintegration results. The goal is to provide a foundation for process analysis and best-practices development in order to further understand how to align compostable packaging and compost manufacturing operations.
With beta testing now completed, the next phase is compost manufacturer participation. Manufacturers interested in improving the breakdown of compostable products and packaging at their facility can inquire about the program here.
