The Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program supports you by increasing communication between end users and compost manufacturers through lab testing and suggested uses.  Those elite compost products who routinely disclose information about their products through the STA Program are promoted by the USCC through:

  • Our website listings
  • Brand recognition of the STA logos we share with you
  • Compost Technical Data Sheets (CTDS) with the STA branding
  • Outreach to increase STA inclusion in specifications

By increasing the use of the STA logo, customers have increased recognition and confidence in using your products. Collectively, we raise up the industry.

Social media rapidly increases customer awareness. A successful campaign needs interesting content, reach and engagement.The MDC has created product marketing materials for you. Social media content, brochures, marketing schedules, and outreach suggestions are all part of what the MDC has put together to make your job easier.

  • ICAW - The USCC has created excellent content for you to use. Every year we update content and a sharing calendar on CREF’s International Compost Awareness Week.
  • Victory Gardens - Are you ready to dive into talking about Victory Gardens now that it’s spring?  We’ve created social media content for you to use on that topic as well.
  • Website - Perhaps you want to customize your own media - we have lots of helpful compost use information on our website.
  • Videos - Perhaps you would appreciate sharing videos by a television personality, showing your customers the benefits of compost. Joe Lamp’L of PBS’s Growing a Greener World’s videos on compost are on the USCC YouTube.
  • Print Brochures - Many compost manufacturers have taken advantage of the STA rack cards to hand out with every compost purchase or STA brochures for meetings with landscape architects.

Do you need help knowing what to do once you have those great resources? In April, the MDC held a webinar on the 9 Plug & Play Tools to Market Your STA Certified Compost This Afternoon. (You may listen to the recording; passcode: &TU2bN$w.) Two successful compost marketing professionals and two USCC staff discussed how to make great content from the USCC work for you. Other helpful webinars from the USCC are archived on our website. Suggestions for how to use our tools to promote your compost are also available.
