Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Sydney Bennett has served as the City of Boise's compost program lead for over four years. As the first of its kind in the state, the curbside compost program in Boise accounts for over 30% of Boise's household waste!

Sydney cut her composting teeth on a permaculture farm in New Hampshire and has a deep respect for the natural cycle of decomposition. When she's not working on the next big thing to help Boise divert material from the landfill, she can be found paddleboarding, hiking or knitting.

Why I pursued Professional Credential through USCC: "The USCC has taken great care to stay ahead of trends and emerging issues in the field of composting, and I've always come away from trainings and webinars with new information to apply to my work. Becoming a Certified Composting Professional was the culmination of my years of professional development."
