The Target Organics Committee has been busy on several projects to augment the impact and content of the online Hub of Resources.

After a request from the USCC Board of Directors, the committee took a deep dive into the Hub’s purpose and audience and clarified the simple name “Target Organics Hub” to add the words "Compost Program Resource."

“We felt it was important to clarify that the hub is a one-stop place for communities to find information to help implement programs, especially with food scrap collection,” said Kellie Kish, Target Organics Committee Co-chair. Dan Aronson, co-chair, added, “the committee will now be widening the focus from municipal programs to other sectors such as colleges, venues, and workplaces.”

Municipal program case studies on several municipalities have been added to the Hub. They can be found at https://hub.compostingcouncil.org/partner-resources

The group hosted a webinar in May focused on BioCycle’s Access to Composting Survey published in late 2021, with speakers from 3 of the communities surveyed: City of St. Louis Park, MN; Boston, MA region; and Sonoma County, CA. A total of 113 people participated in the live event. The recording can be found here. Members can listen to the recording free, and it can be purchased by non-members.
