I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and membership in the US Composting Council. The promotion and advancement of composting is only possible through you and your membership. I’m writing to let you know about what your membership dollars have accomplished this year, and about a new dues policy tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The Year in Review

This year we have:

  • Hosted nine webinars, published 12 newsletters, and hired additional staff to provide more services such as the career center and expanded Compost U
  • Held our largest-ever gathering of the compost industry anywhere in the world (COMPOST2023)
  • Lobbied Congress for the bills that would include compost infrastructure, federal data collection and assessment of our industry, and scientific research on PFAS
  • The timeline below details even more that has happened over the last 12 months.

Dues Policy and 2023 Increase:

Like you, our costs have risen in the past year. Due to rising costs associated with maintaining and expanding our programs and services, membership dues will be increasing by 6% upon renewal in June. This will enable us to continue providing the highest level of support and resources to you, our members, and the composting industry.

This is the first year of a new USCC standardized practice of raising membership dues As we prepare for renewal each year, we will use the past year’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for “All Goods” or inflation to adjust membership dues. That price increase will no greater than 7% annually.

Please don't hesitate to contact Membership Manager Eric Hudiburg, ehudiburg@compostingcouncil.org, with any questions.

Sincerely,
Frank Franciosi
Executive Director
