New STA Participant Spotlight: Winton Manufacturing – Compost Works

Winton Manufacturing – Compost Works is a new facility that became operational in the fall of 2022. Despite the infancy of our facility, we have personnel with experience in the compost industry and understand the significance of the STA program through the USCC.
The battery of tests included in the STA standard, coming through an accredited lab, lend credibility to the quality of the compost. The STA stamp on the forms, and in marketing literature, shows that one cares and takes composting seriously.
Winton Mfg. is located in the Cascade Mountains outside of the Bavarian village in Leavenworth, WA. While Leavenworth is a small town, it is a tourist hotspot with many restaurants and festivals throughout the year. Our logo reflects the theme of the community.
Our composting system employs GORE membrane covers on aerated static piles. Temperature and oxygen probes provide real-time data to help us fine tune the air as well as record for regulatory and other purposes.
