Didi Pershouse will be COMPOST2024's Opening Keynote Speaker

The Land and Leadership Initiative's founder, Didi Pershouse, will give the opening keynote address at COMPOST2024. Pershouse's talk is titled "How the Structural and Functional Integrity of Healthy Soil Can Aid in Climate Resiliency" and is slated for Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
 
Pershouse is renowned for her work in understanding and promoting the interconnected processes of living systems, particularly focusing on soil health and its role in climate resilience. As the author of "The Ecology of Care" and "Understanding Soil Health and Watershed Function," she brings a wealth of knowledge to the forefront of sustainable practices.
 
Pershouse's international impact is noteworthy. As an independent trainer for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO), she has played a crucial role in the Farmer Field School Program and the Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming Initiative in India, benefiting over 700,000 farmers. Her upcoming field training manual, to be published by the UN-FAO, is anticipated to make significant contributions to sustainable farming practices globally.
 
With a rich and varied background, Didi Pershouse promises an enlightening and informative keynote address that explores the intricate relationship between healthy soil and climate resilience.
