Leaders of USCC’s 16 state affiliate chapters, as well as chapter leaders who are under development, will come together for their third year of formal training in Daytona, FL to learn how to deal with chapter legal issues, success in regulatory and legislative development, and discussion of collaboration with the Compost Research and Education Foundation.

The daylong event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 8 and is open to all chapter leaders and leaders of state groups that are considering becoming USCC chapters.

To kick it off, Nisha Thakker, of Tenenbaum Legal, will provide an overview of common legal issues encountered by state chapters. In the next session, Chris Snow (FLCC), Kate Sullivan (NCCC) and Jairo Gonzalez (NJCC) will provide insight into their successful work in bringing stakeholders and regulators together for legislative and regulatory development.

The group will also take time to hear pitches from competitors from our new chapters for the first Rookie Chapter of the Year Award and select the winner.

The session will wrap up with an overview of the Compost Education and Research Foundation and its collaboration with chapters in Compost Operations Training Courses and other programs.

The Chapter Networking Soiree, themed "Lifes a Beach," will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Lunch Break, and all conference attendees are invited to visit tables featuring our chapters. We will again feature a networking game and state prizes!
