Professional Certification Current Due Date Extended Due to Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing several changes to USCC’s certification program.
- For those of you in the application pipeline, while you can reach the point of approval for the certification test, the test centers themselves are closed, unfortunately.
- For those who are certified needing continuing education credits (Professional Development Hours) the main source of PDHs has always been going to conferences, where 10-20+ credits can be earned in a short amount of time. Nearly half of those who are currently certified received their credential as part of the beta program, which means your renewal is due this month or in May. Because all conferences planned for spring have been cancelled, there is no way to earn PDHs quickly. The Certification Commission has decided to extend the deadline for earning the required number of credits for renewal to June 30.
All renewal dates and maintenance fee due dates have also been moved to the last day of the month for administrative reasons. That means, if your credential was expiring April 2, you now have until April 30 to renew, and until June 30 to earn the 30 PDHs required. Alternatively, you have until that date (June 30) to pay to retake the certification test in lieu of earned the 30 credits.
