Every day new things are being developed or discovered. Some things are through luck, but most are through hard work and perseverance. Each year, research is completed and innovations are developed in the pavements and materials fields. These range from ways to strengthen pavements using new materials to additives for asphalt mixes.
With so much research and the resulting innovations, how can you learn about all of them? Simple – the Virginia Pavement Research and Innovation Symposium (VPRIS) to be held June 26-27 at Germanna Community College’s Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper.
This symposium is a joint effort between VAA, Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC) and Germanna Community College (GCC). It will feature presentations from researchers and developers in the fields of pavement design and asphalt materials. Several VTRC scientists will discuss efforts in the areas such as asphalt mix design, pavement recycling and reflective cracking. Industry representatives will describe the latest and greatest developments in products, materials and services.
Registration for VPRIS will be available in early 2018. Watch for further announcements.
If you are a VAA member and your company would like to be a part of the symposium, please contact the VAA office to pre-register. VPRIS will provide opportunities to present and to exhibit. There are a limited number of presentation time slots, so registration is first come first served – do not wait!
