FredCAT Lab is Open for Business

Germanna’s FredCAT center lab which was only a vision in the making at this time last year is finally in place and has already been used to facilitate a VECAT Plant II class and a Mix Design class. This lab was made possible by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration and was prepared for class use by employees from Germanna, VAA, VDOT and the Virginia Transportation Research Council. The lab boasts top of the line equipment which will allow instructors to simulate lab tests and other procedures, and students attending VECAT classes will have the benefit of being able to practice on the type of equipment they are likely to have in the labs at their own place of employment. Beyond supporting the VECAT classes with associated lab elements, Germanna also hopes to use the lab beginning in early spring for proficiency testing required for Plant I and II and Mix Design Certifications. We are excited about this new VECAT resource and would love to show it to anyone who is interested in seeing it in person. Contact Carter Iseman at ciseman@vaasphalt.com to set up a time to visit.
